I find this page is one of the best ones they could have come up with. Sometimes a program that has been removed does not get removed in the Windows add/remove programs section and it causes you to get an error message about the uninstall log or executable can not be found. When this happens you can now remove the entry and not have o worry about it being stuck in the section. It is also useful for setting up your system to prevent others from deleting programs you want to keep by removing the uninstall reference.
